The wedding event of the year took place at Indian Creek Elementary. Students and staff held the fifth annual wedding ceremony for the letters Q and U.
The celebration began with the usual trip down the aisle. It was followed by the traditional first dance and cake-cutting.
The wedding tradition is put on to teach students that the letters Q and U are always together in every word.
“So that way it's memorable and they are like 'Oh I remember that because we had the wedding that went along with it,'" said kindergarten teacher Eliza Battles.
The students were dressed to impress.
"My outfit looks fancy," said Luzcio Garcia.
The wedding is supposed to be a learning experience but some students have bigger plans.
"Yes, I want to get married, too,” said Garcia.
