SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio police are asking for the public's help in finding the person responsible for running down a San Antonio man on the city's Northwest Side.

Police said Robert Hale III was struck and killed in the 4500 block of Gardendale on March 11, 2012.

Witnesses told police they heard screeching tires and the sound of an impact, before seeing a white Ford F-250 pickup truck flee the scene.

Hale succumbed to his injuries and later died.

Witnesses told police the pickup was decked out in "Ranch Hand" accessories, including a "headache rack," a toolbox and a grill guard. All accessories were painted to match the trim of the truck.

A picture of a truck identical to to the one witnesses said hit Hale was provided by police. It is shown above.
