An altercation between a student and a teacher in the Judson Independent School District led to that teacher's resignation.

According to JISD spokesman Steve Linscomb, a fifth-grade student and a teacher at Park Village Elementary School got into an altercation on Feb. 7.

Linscomb said the incident is still under investigation, but that the teacher -- who has not been identified publicly -- is no longer employed by Judson ISD.

"The investigation (has) found that the teacher's actions did not align with the district's expectations of student safety," Linscomb said in a statement. "The teacher's role in this incident did not reflect the District's concept of respect and fairness, and did not comply with the professional standards that it expects all of its teachers to follow."
