SAN ANTONIO -

Driving drunk and going the wrong way on Interstate 37, Jeffery Theisen crashed head-on into a car driven by Carolina Flores during the early morning hours of Dec. 10, 2011.

Flores died a few hours later.

Theisen plead guilty to intoxication manslaughter on Monday.

On Tuesday, he was sentenced to 13 years in prison. Because the judge made an affirmative finding, meaning he has to serve at least half of his sentence before he's eligible for parole.

During the punishment phase of his trial he apologized to Flores’ family.

“I will always be haunted by guilt for what I did,” Theisen testified. “I’m very, very sorry.”
