Kerrville Fire Marshal concludes investigation into fire that left boy, 10, severely burned

2 juveniles charged in incident

KERRVILLE, Texas – The Kerrville Fire Marshal’s Office said an investigation into a fire that left a 10-year-old boy severely injured on Oct. 2 has concluded.

The fire happened in the 300 block of Blanks St. Kayden Culp, 10, was severely burned and had to be air lifted to University Hospital that day.

Authorities arrested two juveniles in conjunction with the investigation. One of the juveniles is charged with first-degree arson and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Officials charged the second juvenile with second-degree arson for assisting in starting the fire.

The identities of the juveniles have not been release because they are under the age of 18.

The Fire Marshal’s Office forwarded its findings to the Kerr County Attorney’s Office.
