SAN ANTONIO -

Kimberly Clark Corp. will shut down its San Antonio plant by the end of June and lay off 90 full-time employees, according to a statement emailed by the Dallas-based company.

The Kimberly Clark plant has been operating in San Antonio for more than 30 years. It is located at 4702 Goldfield and produces a variety of skincare products including hand sanitizer along with moist and dry wipes.

The company's statement added production will be moved to a collection of dedicated skincare manufacturers in North America with strong records of success that will provide a wider variety of manufacturing capabilities.

The transition of the plant will start next month, and operations are scheduled to end in June.

The employees impacted by the closure are eligible for the company's comprehensive severance package.
