Lanny Sinkin to step down as head of Solar San Antonio

Sinkin: Alamo City sixth in nation for solar energy deployment

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio is saying goodbye to Solar San Antonio's Executive Director, Lanny Sinkin. Sinkin's father, the late William Sinkin, created Solar San Antonio in 1999.

For more than a decade Sinkin has worked with Solar San Antonio and he said the company has helped the Alamo City become sixth in the nation for solar energy deployment.

Sinkin said he will continue to work with Solar San Antonio on a consultant basis to continue his father's mission of making San Antonio an international leader in renewable energy.

"Solar San Antonio has wonderful plans in the works, and will continue on carrying on the legacy of my father who started the organization in 1999," Sinkin said. "So I'm confident that San Antonio will still benefit in the long-term from things Solar San Antonio does."

Sinkin plans to return in January to Hawaii, where he lived for 17 years before coming to San Antonio. He said he wants to help Hawaii become an independent nation.
