SAN ANTONIO -

The Greater San Antonio Hispanic Dental Association is taking a stand this Halloween against tooth decay by giving away dollars and toothbrushes in exchange for cavity-causing candy.

Trick-or-treaters can take their unopened excess candy on Saturday to the Kiddo Dental office at 3520 S. New Braunfels Ave. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Candy will be bought at $1 per pound with a five-pound limit.

The money will be donated to Operation Gratitude, a non-profit organization dedicated to sending care packages to troops overseas.

Every participant will be given a goodie bag. Kids can also dress up in costume and write a letter or draw a picture for the troops.
