Man accused of at least 2 bank robberies arrested after Crime Stoppers tip

Samuel Miranda arrested Thursday

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police arrested a man accused of being involved in at least two bank robberies, thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip.

Officers arrested 27-year-old Samuel Miranda on Thursday. Investigators connected him to two bank robberies in January. The first happened Jan. 14 in the 200 block of South Zarzamora Street. Then, five days later, the other robbery happened in the 1000 block of Goliad Road.

After getting the tip, officers caught Miranda at the corner of Guadalupe and Zarzamora. And robbery isn’t all he’s been charged with.

“He was found in a stolen vehicle. He was arrested without incident. He is now facing several charges, including robbery, aggravated robbery and possession of a stolen vehicle,” said Officer Doug Greene, with the San Antonio Police Department.

Miranda told KSAT that he committed the robberies to get his girlfriend out of jail.

Police said the investigation is far from over. They said Miranda could be connected to other recent robberies.
