SAN ANTONIO – Mario Cajas, 39, is facing charges of child sexual abuse after he allegedly fondled a 9-year-old girl during a visit supervised by Child Protective Services.
Cajas was arrested Wednesday on a charge of ongoing sex abuse of a child.
The alleged victim, who is 9 years old now, told Bexar County sheriff's detectives that Cajas had been touching her inappropriately since she was 3 years old.
The affidavit stated that at one point, he also attempted to have sex with her, but she was able to run away.
The girl made an outcry to a grandparent recently and that person reported it to authorities, the affidavit stated.
According to the address listed on the affidavit, Cajas is a resident of Haven for Hope.
He was booked into jail with bond set at $75,000.
