Man arrested for stealing money meant for home repair job

John Swatek has been charged with theft

SAN ANTONIO – A local man has been arrested, accused of stealing money from a homeowner after failing to complete a job.

Police say John Swatek back in June of 2016 told the victim that he could replace a roof for $10,500.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the victim paid Swatek $4,000 to get started. The affidavit said Swatek cashed the check but never started the project, failing to even bring supplies to the victim's home.

Police said they believe Swatek never had any intention of completing the project.

Swatek is charged with theft.
