SAN ANTONIO -

A 33-year-old man identified as Julio Zuniga has been arrested in connection with the weekend shooting death of a man found in a wrecked car on San Antonio’s far West side.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the victim, Billy Schaaf, 37, was shot and killed Sunday as he drove away from a home in the 9700 block of Gold Dust Street.

Police were called to the scene by someone who heard the shots fired, and found Schaaf still in his car which had crashed into two other vehicles, the affidavit stated.

A neighbor told police he caught the incident on video. Detectives said that video shows Schaaf walking up to the home and breaking the window of a car, which they learned belongs to his ex-girlfriend, the affidavit stated.

As Schaaf climbs into his car, someone inside the home opens the door and fires several blasts with a shotgun, the affidavit stated.

Later, detectives interviewed Schaaf’s ex-girlfriend who confirmed that she and Zuniga were the only people in the home at the time, the affidavit stated.

Detectives said they found fingerprints and other evidence tying him the murder, the affidavit stated.
