SAN ANTONIO -

A man wanted on charges of killing a man by strangulation and then stealing from the victim was arrested Monday, according the San Antonio Police Department.

Investigators say Ivan Aguilar, 35, strangled Vincent Diaz, 42, in a hotel room on the 1000 block of South Laredo Street.

According to the police report, Diaz was found on a bed with his hands tied together. Pieces of the same cloth wrapped around his hands were found on either side of the victim's neck.

Hotel employees discovered Diaz's body on Dec. 23. Diaz was in town for a funeral and never showed up to the service.

Police say there was a struggle between Aguilar and Diaz resulting in the slaying. Those traveling with Diaz say he traveled with expensive jewelry and luggage.

Two pieces of Louis Vuitton luggage worth $2,000 were missing from the victim's room.

Investigators say they used surveillance video of Aguilar to help make the arrest. Aguilar is charged with murder.
