A man is now behind bars after being linked to dozens of home burglaries on the city's northeast and northwest sides.
On Friday, representatives of the Bexar County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Gilbert Torres.
"He's somebody we've been very interested in as a result of multiple burglaries in homes in the northesast and northwest sides of the county and of the city," said Paul Berry, with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.
Berry said Torres has an extensive criminal history and is charged with six counts of burglary of a habitation and felony of a firearm.
Along with the arrest, sheriff's investigators were able to recover several thousand dollars worth of stolen property, including jewelry, guns electronics, collectable coins and prescription medications.
"What is important is it's not always very easy to connect them with certain crimes," said Berry. "In this case, our detectives did a great job putting him at the scene and identifying stolen property that he is responsible for taking."
Berry said investigators are now in the process of returning all those items to the victims of this recent crime spree.
As of Friday afternoon, Torres was in custody at the Bexar County Jail with a bond of $125,000.
Berry also said that Torres may be involved in other burglaries and that investigators are working to tie him to those incidents as well.
