HOUSTON -

A Houston man caught a 750-pound alligator during his first alligator hunting trip.

Austin Kimbrough said he was hunting at the Guadalupe Wildlife Management Area near Tivoli, about 30 miles outside of Victoria, Texas when he caught the 13 1/2 foot gator.

According to Kimbrough, he used a giant hook to catch the gator and says it took four people to put the gator into his 14-foot boat.

Kimbrough said he and his dad got a permit to hunt alligator in the area and snagged it by stringing up bait on tree branches over the water.
