SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio police arrested a man accused of opening fire on a former friend last week. Rafael Lozano, 24, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to an arrest affidavit, Lozano shot 23-year-old Luis Rodriguez several times last Wednesday at a home in the 800 block of South Mesquite on the East Side.

Rodriguez's mom told investigators she was inside at the time, when she heard gunshots and looked outside.

According to the affidavit, she saw Lozano standing near her son with a gun, and later saw Lozano run to a waiting car.

Rodriguez was shot in the stomach, leg and arms. The affidavit stated Rodriguez and Lozano were once friends.
