SAN ANTONIO -

A pedestrian was hospitalized after he was struck by a truck while crossing the street. The accident occurred just before 7 p.m. at the intersection of Vance Jackson Road and Gardina Street.

Police said a man in his 30s was dropped off at the intersection and attempted to cross the street when he was struck by a woman driving a truck headed south on Vance Jackson.

"The witnesses that we have right now are saying that the lady did have a green light and she crossed the intersection and he apparently darted across, didn't look for traffic and got hit," said Sgt. Rudy Lopez with SAPD.

The driver did stop after the incident and was not expected to face charges, police said. The pedestrian was transported to University Hospital and listed in critical condition.
