Man drowns while fishing at Calaveras Lake

Victim had heart attack and fell into water

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A 70-year-old man drowned in Calaveras Lake overnight, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. not far from Bernhardt Road and Stewart Road near Loop 1604.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office said the man had a heart attack while fishing and fell into the water. His family became concerned and called authorities after he did not come home from his trip.

The name of the victim has not been released.
