A man who said he went to the store for a late-night snack alerted neighbors to a fire that broke out at their North Side apartment complex early Wednesday morning.

Will Dorothy tells KSAT he is a tenant of the Blanco Crossing Apartments in the 13900 block of Old Blanco Road.

Dorothy said he went to the store for a snack around 4 a.m. and when he returned, he noticed the fire on the patio of a downstairs unit.

Dorothy said he knocked on doors to wake up everyone and grabbed a fire extinguisher to try and extinguish the flames.

Dorothy said by that time, the fire had grown to large and firefighters responded to put it out.

Fire officials believe the cause was electrical and said at least two of four townhome style units were damaged.

Fire officials have not released official damage estimates No injuries were reported.
