Man dies after being pulled from river

Incident was reported around 10:30 p.m. along River Walk

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating after a man was pulled from the river downtown overnight.

The incident was reported around 10:30 p.m. Sunday along the River Walk just off of St. Mary's Street.

UPDATE: The Bexar County Medical Examiner's office has confirmed that the man pulled from the river downtown has died. His name has yet to be released.

Police said they pulled the 61-year-old man from the water and had emergency crews working on him for 25 minutes before taking him to an area hospital.

The man was in critical condition at last check, police said.

Police said they are now trying to figure out how he ended up in the water and are also looking for witnesses.
