Police believe speed may have been a factor in a Saturday night cycle crash.

The man crashed the motorcycle around 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Vincent St.

According to police, the cycle rider was speeding when he hit a speed bump.

They say the motorcycle went airborne about 25 feet before landing.

Police believe the rider applied the brakes afterward, causing him to lose control and crash the bike.

They say he went about 100 feet before he fell from the bike, landing on his head.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.

He was taken to SAMMC in critical condition.
