Universal City police confirmed that one man was shot and killed Thursday evening at an apartment complex there.

Police said the man was killed around 5:30 p.m. at the Pebble Beach Village Apartments in the 400 block of East Aviation Boulevard.

At least one man has been arrested in connection with the shooting, police said.

"As we got there and began our investigation, it was found that the victim was a victim of foul play, a gunshot wound," said Det. Anthony Nolden. "As our investigation continued, we were able to come up with a suspect, who was subsequently arrested thanks to the help of the Schertz Police Department and the Randolph Area Metro SWAT Team."

Family members tell us the victim is 25-year-old Jimmy Wayne Mosmeyer Jr. but that they don't understand why he was shot in his home.

The suspect has not been publicly identified by police.
