SAN ANTONIO -

A man was robbed and then shot in the arm by a pair of men late Wednesday night on the Northwest Side, San Antonio police say.

Police responded to the robbery just before midnight at an apartment complex in the 6000 block of Whitby Road.

The tenant told officers he answered a knock at his front door and two men wearing dark clothing barged inside.

The tenant said one of the robbers displayed a gun and the pair began to ransack the apartment.  

The tenant told officers the culprits robbed him and then one of the men shot him in the arm before they fled. 

Police said the men also stole the tenant's car. The tenant was transported to University Hospital for treatment.

His condition was unknown and the robbers remained at-large as of 5 a.m. Thursday.
