ATASCOSA COUNTY, Texas - An Atascosa County jury found Joe Raymond Solis guilty of indecency with a child by sexual contact.

A grand jury had indicted Solis on Sept. 11, 2015.

"This guilty verdict sends a message that our community will not tolerate those that prey on our children," District Attorney René M. Peña said. "Children are our most vulnerable victims and as a society we must protect our children. As prosecutors, we are the voice for our victims and this guilty verdict shows we take that job very seriously."

Indecency with a child by sexual contact is a second-degree felony, punishable by 2-20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. The Atascosa County jury handed down a 10-year sentence for Solis in state prison.
