SAN ANTONIO – A woman is in the hospital after her boyfriend shot her during an argument.
It happened around 11 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of North San Dario.

According to police, the couple was arguing when the boyfriend -- identified Tuesday afternoon as 26-year-old Richard Carrero -- pulled out a gun and shot his girlfriend once in the torso, then turned the gun on himself.
Carrero was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman, who has not been identified by police, was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.
Police do not know what the couple was arguing about, but police do have two witnesses that they are questioning.
