SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio police are investigating how a man got shot on the southeast side early Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened just after 2 a.m. on Channing Avenue near South Gevers Street.

Police officers arrived and found the injured man with a gunshot wound to his stomach.

He initially told police that someone shot him, but later changed his story when officers found a holster with no gun.

He was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
