Man shot on West Side; police say shooting connected to Wednesday night brawl turned shooting

Victim taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

SAN ANTONIO – A man was shot in the abdomen on the city's West Side Thursday night, police said.

The shooting happened in the 3500 block of El Paso Street near Barclay and 21st Street.

Police said witnesses told them the man was outside on his cellphone, pacing back and forth on the sidewalk when someone in a small, dark-colored four-door car fired twice and sped off.

A sergeant at the scene said the shooting is possibly connected to a shooting that happened in the area Wednesday night. Police are still working to figure out the connection between the two.
