SAN ANTONIO -

A stabbing victim says he was attacked by two men who were asking for change outside an east San Antonio food mart.

San Antonio police said reported stabbing took place around 12:30 a.m. Thursday at the Walters Food Mart on Walters and Burnet.

The victim said two suspects asked him for change as he left the store. When he didn't give them anything, one of the men stabbed him.  

Both men fled and the victim managed to walk to his home on Lamar Street to call police.

He was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment and is expected to recover, San Antonio police said.

Police are investigating the stabbing and no arrests have been announced as of 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
