Man struck, killed by train while walking along tracks on Northeast Side

Conductor says he honked horn, tried to brake

SAN ANTONIO – A man was hit and killed by a train around 12:30 a.m. Friday on Binz-Engleman near Trooper Road.

The train conductor told police he saw the man walking along the tracks, so he honked the train horn and tried to brake, but the man kept walking.

The train conductor said he was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting the man.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
