A man took a wild ride straight into a westside lake Saturday afternoon.
Police say the man drove his car into Elmendorf Lake near the intersection of W. Martin and 27th St. around 4:30 p.m.
But they say they're not sure why the car ended up in the middle of the lake.
Officers on scene said it is possible the driver passed out, or lost the brakes on his car.
They say he headed south on 27th and passed through W. Martin, went through the driveway at an apartment complex, cleared a grassy area and flew into the lake.
When rescue crews arrived they found the man standing on the trunk of his half-submerged car.
They got him out of the lake and EMS transported him to University Hospital for treatment of an injured shoulder.
