Man wounded in East Side drive-by shooting

Victim was taken to SAMMC for his injuries

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police said a man was wounded in a drive-by shooting while walking down a street overnight.

The shooting was reported around 9:15 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Morning View Drive and Wheatley Avenue, found on the city's East Side.

Police said the 38-year-old man was shot in the wrist while walking down Wheatley by an unknown person in a white sport utility vehicle.

The victim was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center in stable condition. 

The name of the victim and a motive for the shooting is not presently known.

The investigation is ongoing.
