A massive fire started at a near West Side home and spread to another early Monday morning.
San Antonio firefighters responded to the fire just before 6 a.m. at a home in the 2700 block of Buena Vista Street.
Firefighters arrived to heavy smoke and flames and initially had to take a defensive approach to battling the blaze.
Fire officials said the flames were so intense, the fire quickly spread to a neighboring home.
Fire crews were finally able to contain the fire just before 7 a.m. and determined everyone inside both homes were able to get out safe.
Arson investigators were called to the scene to investigate a cause. Fire officials had not released any damage estimates as of 7 a.m. Monday.
