SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio police continue to search for the driver who struck and killed a 9-year-old girl Wednesday morning and drove away from the scene.

SAPD investigators say Tatyana Babineaux was headed to school at Larkspur Elementary when she was struck by the driver of a pickup truck while crossing the street in the 11000 block of Braesview. She was transported to University Hospital but later died.

Police believe the suspect vehicle is a newer model, pewter Chevrolet Colorado with damage to the front end likely on the passenger side.

Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.

A makeshift memorial has also been set up in Babineaux's memory near the accident scene and a family friend created a GoFundMe.com website page requesting donations that will be passed on to Babineaux's family.
