Booker was in the Middle East country as a part of Operation Inherent Resolve.

The soldier is not the first Texan killed during the operation. In November, Staff Sgt. James Moriarty, from Kerrville -- alongside two others soldiers -- died when their convoy came under fire while entering a Jordanian military base.
