Two young sisters from Eagle Pass who had been missing since June have reportedly been found safe.

The Eagle Pass Daily News reported 9-year-old Edna Perez and 7-year-old Dafne Perez were found across the border in Piedras Negras.

The Daily News reported the girls were with their mother who called their uncle to say they were safe.

KSAT spoke to the girls' uncle in late June. Juan Perez speculated the girls were picked up by their mother after they snuck out of their grandmother's home.

They were last seen by construction workers at a park where Perez believed his nieces were picked up.

Eagle Pass police have not released any further information regarding the case.
