LAREDO, Texas -

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Laredo seized 114 pounds of crystal meth during a single bust Sunday which valued at more than $3.6 million.

CPB officers seized the drugs after they encountered a 33-year-old Mexican citizen from Duluth, Georgia at the Lincoln-Juarez Bridge.

The driver, vehicle and all passengers were inspected, revealing two containers that contained the crystal meth, according to a news release.

“CBP officers have been busy finding loads of methamphetamines, and from the amount of this case, this interception outweighs the last large load and makes this load the largest yet for this month, said Jose R. Uribe, CBP Acting Port Director, Laredo. “This large seizure brings the total amount of methamphetamine seized at the port this month to more than 300 pounds.”

The driver was arrested and turned over to Homeland Security Investigations agents for further investigation.
