A motorcyclist died after he crashed into a Ford Mustang in northwest San Antonio late Thursday night.
The motorcyclist was identified Friday morning as 37-year-old Prentis Frazier Jr.
Police said Frazier was headed north on Loop 410 near Bandera Road when he rear-ended the Mustang, which was stopped due to lane closures and construction.
"Apparently, there were construction barrels and signage, the overhead signs showing construction," said Roger Zuniga, patrol officer for the San Antonio Police Department. "A lot of times, people don't expect vehicles to stop that fast. So we advise drivers when you're driving on the road, try to predict if you can what's going on. Not just from the vehicle ahead of you, but several vehicles ahead of you."
The impact of the crash threw Frazier at least 10 feet, police said.
Frazier was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was not wearing a helmet. No other injuries were reported.
This is the third fatal crash involving a motorcyclist within the past week.
Frazier's wife said he leaves behind two children with a third on the way.
