At least four people died after a major accident Monday morning in Karnes County.
According to investigators, an 18-wheeler, a motorcycle and a Honda Accord were all involved, with all four people in that sedan dying as a result.
The wreck occurred at the intersection of Highway 72 and FM 1145 just outside of Kenedy.
Department of Public Safety investigators said the 18-wheeler was turning left at the intersection and presumably had to take a wide turn.
Up the road over, a motorcyclist was coming down and couldn't stop, so he laid his bike down.
Following the motorcycle was that Honda Accord, which swerved to avoid the motorcyclist and crashed into the back of the 18-wheeler,completely totaling the car.
DPS investigators said the three passengers inside the car died at the scene and the driver died on the way to the hospital.
The drivers of the 18-wheeler and the motorcycle appear to be OK, although no specifics were given as to the nature of their injuries, if any.
The four people in the car were apparently with the motorcyclist and a DPS spokesman says they were all oilfield workers who had been at a bar.
The names of the victims have not been released, nor has an official cause.
However, investigators believe alcohol may have played a role in this wreck.
