A second grader at a Northeast ISD elementary school was removed from class Monday after school officials said he threatened another student with knife.
According to NEISD officials, another child at Montgomery Elementary School told a teacher the student had the knife in his backpack in the gym area.
The teacher confiscated the backpack, but did not realize the student had place the knife in his pocket. The student then pulled out the knife and threatened another child.
Administrators quickly responded and called NEISD police. The student was removed from the classroom per district protocol.
NEISD officials sent a letter to parents explaining the incident and stated the situation was under investigation. No injuries were reported.
