The school, which is under construction on FM 471 near Medina County, will house grades 9-11 in fall 2017.

Seniors in the new school zone will stay and graduate from their current high schools.

The Northside School Boundary Advisory Committee will host a public hearing May 5 at Taft High School to discuss the new school zones.

The committee will get input from the community and submit a recommendation to the school board.

Final approval for the zone is expected on May 24.

Eventually, Harlan High School will grow to about 2,800 students.
