North East ISD employees will get a 2 percent pay raise effective July 1.

NEISD school board members approved the pay raise and a 1 percent retention supplement during a meeting Monday night.

Employees will receive the retention supplement in their June 2014 paycheck.

"I would love to do even more, but I also feel good about being able to give this much-deserved raise," said NEISD Superintendent Dr. Brian Gottardy. "Our employees work so hard, and I appreciate everything they do."

The pay raise and the retention supplement will cost the district about $11 million.
