North Texas police officer missing after marathon found safe

A North Texas police officer who disappeared Sunday evening after he participated in San Antonio's Rock 'N' Roll Marathon has been located.
San Antonio police issued a press release Wednesday morning stating Jeremy Ray Varnell, 43, was located around 6:45 a.m. in Lantana, Fla.
The release stated Varnell is fine and his family has been notified. Varnell had last been seen at the El Tropicano Hotel Sunday and was supposed to meet up with friends Monday morning, but he never showed up and did not answer his phone.
A concerned family member then contacted authorities. San Antonio police did not release any further details on how he was located.
According to The Dallas Morning News, Varnell is a Sergeant with the Flower Mound Police Department. He has been a police officer for 22 years and spent the past 19 years with Flower Mound P.D.
