Nursing home employee faces charges for hitting 96-year-old woman, affidavit says

Raymond Padua Pintor currently out on bond

SAN ANTONIO – An employee of a local nursing home is facing charges for hitting a 96-year-old woman in the face, an arrest affidavit said.

The affidavit said 35-year-old Raymond Padua Pintor admitted he hit the woman and waited until the end of his shift at St. Francis Nursing Home to tell the head nurse.

Pintor told investigators the elderly woman was in his care. He said she was trying to get out of her bed early Monday morning, and he pinned her arms as she was kicking and scratching. He then allegedly slapped her three times.

When talking to the victim, the officer noted she had trouble describing what happened because of her dementia. The officer said he saw bruising and redness on her forearms and face.

A manager at the nursing home told KSAT 12 News Pintor was fired and banned from the property. The victim’s family was also notified of the incident.

The manager said they are working with police and have notified the state government. In a statement, he said they “are committed to the safety and well-being of all of our residents.”

The affidavit said despite the woman’s mental state, she understands that Pintor hurt her. The nursing home said there were no other major injuries.

Pintor is currently out of jail on a $10,000 bond. He’ll face a judge on charges of injury to an elderly causing bodily injury.
