The theft of some expensive car equipment has led to criminal charges being filed against a Northwest Side man.
Police found help in solving the case through a website called Leads Online. It gave officers all the information they needed to make the arrest of Isaac Salgado, 23, in connection with the theft.
Police investigators said a car owner reported the theft in November, saying someone had gone into his car outside his home and stolen two expensive pieces of car-testing equipment.
The tools are worth about $2,000.
Investigators followed up, checking local pawn shops. They said they found evidence showing Salgado had pawned the items.
Although the theft is said to have happened late last year, police just got a warrant for his arrest earlier this week.
A mugshot for Salgado was not available at the time of this publication.
