Missing 3-year-old boy found safe in National Forest near New Waverly

WALKER COUNTY – A 3-year-old boy missing in the Sam Houston National Forest has been found safe, according to rescue crews.

Ezra, 3, was reported missing around 3 p.m. Saturday at the Sam Houston National Forest, near New Waverly, along the Walker County, Montgomery County line.

Officials said Ezra and his family were camping in a highly wooded area, when Ezra wandered from them.

DPS helicopters and officials searched the woods for the child. Several other agencies from both Walker County and Montgomery County were also called to assist in the search.
