A 25-year-old woman whose SUV went out of control and slammed into the back of a Northeast Side home has been cited for not having a valid driver’s license.
The woman, whose name was not released immediately, told San Antonio police officers she was turning left from Clearspring Drive onto Perrin Beitel Road around 9 a.m. Monday when she lost control of her SUV and jumped a curb.
The vehicle broke through a wooden fence, cut across a backyard and slammed into the back of a home, police said.
"Seems like she was an inexperienced driver and I think she kept her foot on the gas. She tried to control the car and it jumped the curb," said Officer Thaddeus Stout.
No one was inside the home at the time.
Police said it appeared the driver may have suffered minor injuries.
However, she did not require medical attention at the scene.
Although the driver did not have a valid license, she did have insurance, Stout said.
