SAN ANTONIO – An overturned 18-wheeler blocked traffic on a notorious stretch of San Antonio highway Saturday morning.
The 18-wheeler flipped about 11:30 a.m. on the Interstate 10 West ramp from Interstate 35 South by the Finesilver building, officials said.

The big rig flipped as the driver took a curve on the ramp, known locally as the "Finesilver curve."
The driver of the big rig was not injured, but part of the truck's windshield smashed, leaving glass on the road.
The truck carried a load of bottled water that had to be unloaded to another truck.
Finesilver curve has long history of crashes
The Finesilver curve is notorious for crashes involving 18-wheelers, transportation officials said.
"We know that there's an issue out there, but because there's no space, there's no room for us to do anything. With the Finesilver building there at this time there are no plans," Texas Department of Transportation spokeswoman Laura Lopez said in a 2015 interview.
Lopez said a number of things have already been done to stop trucks from toppling over on the curve.
"There's plenty of signage out there reminding folks about what the speed is, and also signs with 18-wheelers that are tipped over," Lopez said. "So there is plenty of signage out there to remind motorists. Please be careful taking that curve."
Lopez said the curve has been part of a route that does not allow hazardous cargo since 1999, when a major spill closed the ramp for 24 hours.
She said that's also when crews added overhead signs that show a driver's actual speed.
