VIA park and ride service for soccer match at Alamodome

SAN ANTONIO -

Starting Jan. 29, VIA will offer  park and ride service to the soccer game between Mexico and Korea Republic.

Park and ride service will be offered from the Crossroads Park and Ride, the Airport Park and Ride, and the Madla Transit Center.

Service to the Alamodome will begin at 5 p.m., and return service will run for one hour after the conclusion of the game.

The special event park and ride fare is $2.50 each way with a discount fare available to children, seniors, medicare recipients, and students.

VIAtrans customers and children under 5 years of age ride free.

In addition to the park and ride service, VIA Primo will also serve the Robert Thompson Transit Station during the soccer game, starting at noon.

The regular bus fare of $1.20 will apply, and VIA passes will be accepted for trips on Primo.

VIA will also operate a Downtown Special Event Shuttle that will pick up from a stop on Buena Vista Street underneath IH-35.
