Pedestrian struck by car in SE Bexar County

Pedestrian struck by car near Highway 87, condition unknown

SAN ANTONIO – A woman walking in the middle of the dark road was struck by a car in east Bexar County early Wednesday morning. 

Sheriff's deputies said the pedestrian was pushing a shopping cart when she was struck on FM 3465, south of Highway 87 near Loop 1604 South.

The driver was headed to work when she struck the pedestrian and told deputies she did not realize she struck a person until she got our of her car.

The pedestrian is believed to be 38-years-old. She was taken to a hospital by ambulance. Her condition was unknown as of 7 a.m.

Sheriff's deputies said the road has no lights and the driver stopped to render aid. She was not expected to face charges, deputies said.
