SAN ANTONIO -

A pilot crashed his small plane after experiencing trouble just south of Stinson Airport.

The crash happened around 11 a.m. Saturday.

Witnesses say the man had just taken off from Stinson when his plane had problems.

They say he tried to make it back to Stinson, but crashed about 200 yards short of the runway.

The pilot was injured and taken to SAMMC for treatment. His injuries did not appear serious.

National Transportation Safety Board investigators arrived on scene after the crash.

The NTSB will try to determine what caused Saturday's plane crash.
